Overview

Tolkienizer ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that generates Lord of the Rings character-style replies for X.com (Twitter). We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data Collection

The Extension collects and processes minimal data:

• Tweet Content: When you click the Tolkienizer button, the text of the tweet you're replying to is sent to our server to generate a response. This data is processed in real-time and is NOT stored.
• Character Preference: Your selected default character (e.g., Gollum, Gandalf) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This never leaves your device.

Data NOT Collected

We do NOT collect:

• Personal information (name, email, etc.)
• X.com/Twitter account credentials
• Browsing history
• Cookies or tracking data
• Any data from sites other than X.com

Data Processing

Tweet content sent to our server is:

• Processed immediately by the Anthropic Claude API to generate a reply
• Not logged or stored on our servers
• Not shared with any third parties (except Anthropic for AI processing)
• Not used for training AI models

Third-Party Services

The Extension uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate replies. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to their processing of the tweet content: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy

Data Security

All communication between the Extension and our server uses HTTPS encryption.

Your Rights

Since we don't store personal data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete. Your character preference can be cleared by removing the Extension.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
